Many employees are exposed to harmful noise levels on a daily basis. As an employee, you do not want to suffer permanent hearing damage as a result of your work and, of course, as an organization, you don't want your employees to be at unnecessary risk either. According to the Working Conditions Act you are even obliged to wear professional hearing protection (such as otoplastics) to offer to employees who are exposed to harmful noise levels. But what about the right to otoplastics and their reimbursement?
In the context of noise exposure and the prevention of hearing damage, hearing protection must be made available to employees from an exposure of 80 dB (A). From these noise levels, both employees and employers are required to wear and provide hearing protection. The employer must ensure that this protection is actually worn. Does an employer have to reimburse otoplastics? The answer is yes, otoplastics must be reimbursed by an employer.

The Working Conditions Act (Working Conditions Act) does not specifically state a maximum allowance for otoplastics. However, it is important to note that employers are required to provide a safe working environment and to provide the necessary protective equipment, such as otoplastics, if necessary to prevent hearing damage. Here is a relevant quote from article 3 of the Working Conditions Act:
“The employer ensures the safety and health of employees in all aspects related to work and, to this end, has a policy that focuses on the best possible working conditions.”
As far as the fees and costs for otoplastics are concerned, these are often included in the agreements and contracts between companies and suppliers such as Seeh. Our price list specifies the costs of otoplastics, but does not mention a maximum reimbursement under the law. Specific agreements can be made about this per company. For more detailed information about the costs of otoplastics, please check the price lists.

According to the Working Conditions Act, it is the employer's responsibility to ensure that employees work in a safe environment, without health risks due to noise pollution. Otoplastics, also known as custom earplugs, are essential for anyone who is exposed to sounds above 80 decibels (dB) for a long time. This includes sectors such as construction, industry, events and logistics.
Hearing damage is often irreversible and can have a major impact on your daily life. By investing in otoplastics, employers ensure that employees can do their work safely without the risk of hearing damage.
Yes, in occupations where the noise level regularly exceeds 80 dB, employers are required to provide hearing protection. At 85 dB or more, wearing otoplastics is often required by the employer.
Yes, otoplastics can also be used outside working hours, for example when riding a motorcycle, visiting concerts or other noisy activities. They are custom-made and offer protection without completely shutting off the hearing.
On average, otoplastics last 2 to 3 years. However, regular monitoring is essential to ensure that they continue to fit properly and maintain their protective effect. This is recommended to be done about once a year.
