Did you know that nearly 4 in 10 employees work at least 6 hours a day with a monitor? This can lead to all kinds of annoying complaints such as: eyestrain, sensitivity to light and even neck or back pain. Recognizable?
With our partner Hans Anders, we have found the solution to prevent these complaints: the monitor glasses.
The name actually says it all: display glasses provide sharp vision behind your computer, tablet or smartphone. Whatever your strength, the special glass allows your eyes to strain less and fatigue less. In addition, the glasses ensure that you no longer sit behind your screen with a tense posture. In short, monitor glasses increase your own working comfort while working at home or at the office and prevent or minimize annoying physical complaints.
At the end of a workday, people close their laptops and computer screens go black. As employees get ready for the evening, chances are many of them suffer from neck or back pain. Others experience irritated eyes or have trouble falling asleep because of the harmful blue light emanating from their screens.
But why is wearing monitor glasses so important? The answer is simple: it prevents employees from developing complaints while performing their work behind the monitor. It makes employees feel good both during and after their workday. Moreover, it helps maintain high productivity within your company.
Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, every employer is obliged to ensure that employees can do their work safely. VDU work should also not endanger anyone's health and safety. In order to protect employees, a number of rules have been established: prior to screen work or when eye complaints arise, employers must offer their employees the opportunity to undergo an eye examination. If it is found that monitor glasses can help against the complaints, the employer is obliged to reimburse the cost of the monitor glasses . Employees who need reading glasses and perform monitor work are routinely entitled to monitor glasses reimbursed by their employer.
To be eligible for tax deductibility, the compensation must meet the conditions of the Working Costs Regulation (WKR).
To be exempt from tax under the WKR, the reimbursement for the monitor glasses must qualify as a targeted exemption. If the monitor glasses meet the conditions of a targeted exemption, the reimbursement will not be considered as salary in kind and the employee does not have to pay tax on this.
